A Car invades the Motorcycle space

The Gordon Murray Design T25.

Gordon Murray Design just unveiled their T.25, a vehicle in the "city car" class, or, in other words, it's tiny, at least in comparison to other cars, it's just under 4 feet wide and 8 feet long, smaller than a Smart Car. The British car is powered by a 51 horsepower inline 3 cylinder engine mounted in the rear. The driver is front and center, 2 passengers sit behind. The front section tilts forward for access.

The diminutive size allows backing in to the curb, parking 3 cars in one parallel parking space, a U-turn is under 20 feet. It weighs 1212 pounds and gets 61.9 miles per gallon. This is definitely something that could scoot around in a city with ease and carry more people in less space on the road, easing congestion.

The Falcon Kestrel

This motorcycle won the best Custom at the "Quail Gathering" in May 2010 at Carmel in California.

The Falcon Kestrel is pictured in racing trim - with no head light, tail light or license plate. It is based on a 1970 Triumph .

An exceptionally pretty piece of retro machinery capturing the essence of clean styling.

Buick Streamliner - 1948

This classic Buick Streamliner is in pristine condition, restored by Dave Crouse for the 2010 Concours d'Elegance.

Its original construction took over two years, built with an aluminium body around a steel chassis. Not only is it unlikely you'll ever see this beauty on the road, it's likely that you will never see it on the auction block.

A car like this is too rare, too beautiful for any owner to pass it up - no matter what the price.

Looking at this car we can only lament the direction car design and body aesthetics has gone.

Single Seater Aero Car

This is Volkswagen's new car - a single seat aero design soon to be released in China for only 4000 yuan, that's around $600 and it will get 258 miles per gallon.

The original objective of the prototype was to seat one person and to prove that 1 litre of fuel would deliver 100 kilometres of travel. It is made completely of carbon fibre and is unpainted to save weight.

The aero design proved essential to getting the desired result. The body is 3.47 m. long, 1.25 m. wide and a little over a metre high. Safety was not compromised as the impact and roll over protection is comparable to racing cars.

Power plant is a one cylinder diesel motor positioned ahead of the rear axle with an automatic transmission. Fuel tank capacity is 1.7 gallons (about 7.7 litres) with a speed of about 74.6 mph (about 119 kmh). Travel distance with a full tank of fuel is 404 miles (646 k).

(now we just need to make it look SEXY and sound like a V8 and the whole world will buy one)!
